Climate Resilient Landscaping Series – An Introduction

As landscapers and designers we experience the weather every day, whether in our customers’ gardens or our own. The summer of 2023 was the hottest recorded, and here in Durham we also experienced 80 mph wind during a short lived, but very damaging thunderstorm.

Over the next weeks and months, we are going to share tips on designing gardens for climate resiliency. Topics will include plant selection, strategies for severe weather, and design tips.

We are not climate scientists, but we are experienced gardeners, and if you are interested in making your home landscape more resilient to extreme weather and more beneficial to our local ecosystem – we’re here to help.
