After working with several hundred clients over the years I’ve learned a lot about the factors that lead to a successful landscaping project.
• First, define your goal. What is your motivation for this project – decreased maintenance? Increased curb appeal? A particular aesthetic? Think about your primary goal and share that with your designer.
• Second, establish a budget. Think about budget both in terms of money and in terms of time. How much do you want to invest financially and how much maintenance are you willing to do?
• Third, establish your priorities. Which parts of your landscape are the most important – this will be different on each property – front yard curb appeal or back yard screening for example.
